Local Knowledge You Can't Fake
I'm based in Santa Fe. I've photographed weddings here across every season, every light condition, and at over 50 venues across New Mexico. That matters more than it might sound.

When I say I know Bishop's Lodge, I mean I know where the cottonwood grove goes gold at 5:30 PM in October, which ceremony spot has a western exposure problem at midday in July, and how long the walk is between the chapel and the great lawn when you have a grandmother in heels. That kind of knowledge comes from being there — repeatedly, in all conditions — not from browsing a venue's Instagram.
Santa Fe also has genuinely unusual light. The altitude, the adobe, the pinon-dotted hillsides — it all creates a photographic environment that rewards someone who knows how to read it. I've spent years learning to read it.
"Casey knew the best spots and exactly what time of day for the ideal lighting. He accomplished all of this in less than an hour."— Tracey M., Bishop's Lodge Wedding ★★★★★
Santa Fe Venues I Know Well

- Bishop's Lodge (Auberge Resorts) — Mountain backdrops, the cottonwood grove, the historic chapel. One of Santa Fe's most photogenic properties. I return here more than anywhere else.
- Four Seasons Rancho Encantado — Sweeping Sangre de Cristo views, refined luxury, and terrain that photographs dramatically in any season.
- La Fonda on the Plaza — Historic adobe architecture in the center of Santa Fe. The rooftop and courtyard are spectacular. Lighting inside is mixed — I always scout.
- Loretto Chapel — The spiral staircase is the icon. Ceremony space is small and intimate. Light comes from the east — morning ceremonies are ideal.
- Sunrise Springs Spa Resort — Peaceful, water-focused, surrounded by cottonwoods. A calmer energy than the big luxury properties and a beautiful backdrop for documentary work.
- Museum Hill — City views, dramatic sky, and a cultural backdrop. Excellent for couples who want Santa Fe's art district character in their photos.
- Ghost Ranch (Abiquiú) — An hour north of Santa Fe. O'Keeffe's territory — red cliffs, open sky, impossible colors. Worth the drive for the right couple.
"He finds the right organic moments for memories to last a lifetime. 10/10."— Salvatore Z., Santa Fe Couple Session ★★★★★
Photo and Video — One Vendor
Casey Addason Photography covers both photo and video. You don't need to coordinate two separate vendors, two separate timelines, or two separate personalities on your wedding day. Hybrid packages combine cinematic film with documentary photography — typically at a lower combined cost than booking them separately and with a much more coherent final product.

My Approach
Documentary means I'm watching what's actually happening — not staging moments, not herding people into positions, not pausing the day to manufacture shots. I'm a musician and performer as well as a photographer, which means I understand timing, reading a room, and knowing when to stay quiet and when to move. Clients describe me as easy-going, invisible when I need to be, and very fast with a camera when something real happens.

The result is a gallery that looks like your wedding, not a template of one.
Reviews and Track Record
I have 90+ five-star reviews across Google, The Knot, WeddingWire, and Thumbtack — all from real clients, all at 5.0. I've been shooting weddings in New Mexico for years, and I've never missed a shot that mattered to a couple because I was in the wrong place or unprepared for the light.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Santa Fe wedding photographer cost?
Wedding photography packages start at $3,500 for full-day coverage. Elopement and intimate ceremony coverage starts at $1,000. Contact me for a specific quote based on your date and needs.
What Santa Fe wedding venues do you know best?
I've shot at 50+ New Mexico venues, with deep experience at Bishop's Lodge, Four Seasons Rancho Encantado, La Fonda on the Plaza, Loretto Chapel, Sunrise Springs, Museum Hill, and Ghost Ranch.
Do you offer both photo and video?
Yes. Casey Addason Photography covers both photo and video. Hybrid packages combine cinematic video with documentary photography at a lower combined cost than booking separately.
How far in advance should I book?
Fall in Santa Fe books 12–18 months in advance. Spring and summer book 9–12 months out. If you're within 6 months of your date, reach out immediately — I do occasionally have openings.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
Yes. I photograph all couples, all ceremonies, all configurations — without qualification.
How many photos will I receive from my wedding?
A full wedding day typically produces 500–800 edited images. Shorter coverage (ceremony + portraits only) typically yields 200–350. Every delivered image is fully edited — culled, color-corrected, and retouched where needed.
What is your photography style?
Documentary and editorial. I follow the day as it happens and work to disappear into it. Portraits are directed but not overly posed. The goal is images that look like your day actually looked — not a styled shoot.
How long until I receive my wedding gallery?
Wedding galleries are delivered within 3–4 weeks. Elopements are typically delivered within 1–2 weeks. You'll receive a private online gallery with download access and printing rights.
Do you photograph destination weddings in New Mexico?
Yes. I cover weddings throughout New Mexico — Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, Ghost Ranch, Palo Duro Canyon, and beyond. I also travel nationally and internationally for destination work with a travel fee.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes. Engagement sessions run 60–90 minutes, typically at a meaningful Santa Fe location. They're a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day. I recommend booking them 4–8 months before the wedding.
